Although Borthwood Cottages are set in a beautiful quiet rural spot they are an ideal location for exploring the Island.

By Car

Only two miles from the beautiful sheltered sandy beaches of Shanklin and Sandown or about twenty miles from the iconic Needles at the other end of the Island. With lots of other lovely places to explore in between.

By Bus - want to leave the car at home?

Take a 15 minute walk through Borthwood Copse to Winford Hairpin Bend or alternatively a 15 minute walk up Borthwood Lane, over Sandown Airport to the main road and pick up the No.8 Bus. By Bike or On Foot

Borthwood Cottages are only a few minutes from the Newport to Sandown cycle and walking route, which will get you on your way. The Island has numerous cycle rides, walking trails and marked footpaths and bridleways. Go to visitisleofwight.co.uk for lots of ideas about exploring the Island by bike or foot.
